Woman beaten in Palmetto home invasion

MANATEE -- A 39-year-old woman was beaten unconscious during a home invasion robbery at her residence Thursday morning, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The victim was inside her residence in the 2700 block of Sixth Avenue East, Palmetto, about 11 a.m. when three men entered through the opened front door. One of the suspects punched her in the face, leaving her unconscious, according to a news release.

The report said a woman was with the three men.

The victim, who was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for treatment, is missing an undetermined amount of money, according to the sheriff's office.
