Dec. 7: Bradenton's 17th annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 starting on Old Main Street. The event benefits the Arthritis Foundation. The 5K run/walk begins at 7 p.m., and the 1-mile run/walk starts at 7:10 p.m. Registration begins at 5 p.m. There will be commemorative long-sleeve T-shirts and jingle bells with laces. Music, food, vendors, Santa, a kids zone and VIP tent will be available. Ongoing: The Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex is offering a Learn to Skate Program taught by professional coaches and Olympians using the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills Program. The basic skills program is a beginning ice skating program that features nine levels, from Snowplow Sam (tots) through Basic 8. There also are adult levels 1-4. Sessions last eight weeks and run year round. Skaters may sign up for lessons that run once, twice or three times per week for a 45-minute group class.
