SARASOTA -- Two Bradenton men have been charged with two residential burglaries last week in Sarasota County, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

During a traffic stop Friday, deputies found a jewelry box, burglary tools and prescription drugs in a blue 2002 Grand Marquis driven by Jeremy Maxwell, 30, and occupied by Michael Mullins, 22, both of Bradenton.

The vehicle matched the description given by a victim whose home was broken into earlier in the day and a victim whose home was burglarized on Nov. 26.

"Most of the recovered property was identified by both victims, but the remaining items could be from other burglaries so the investigation is continuing," a news release states.

Maxwell, who investigators say has an extensive criminal history in Sarasota County, is charged with two counts of burglary, driving with a suspended license and being a habitual traffic offender. He is being held on bonds totaling $15,120.

Mullins, who is already on felony probation for grand theft in Manatee County, is charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of possession of burglary tools and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held on bonds totaling $17,500.
