SARASOTA -- Vehicular traffic will continue to be congested on Interstate 75 at Mile Marker 205 and State Road 72/Clark Road as a result of the "Tough Mudder” competition taking place at Hi Hat Ranch, the Florida Highway Patrol warns.

Drivers can expect traffic backups between from 3-7 p.m. Sunday. Sarasota County Emergency Services officials recommend that travelers avoid the area through the weekend.

The Florida Highway Patrol is working with Florida Department of Transportation on directional road signage and alternate routes from the south and north.
