MANATEE -- A driver and front seat passenger were critically wounded as they drove north on the 1300 block of 301 Boulevard East when another vehicle pulled along them on a curve and fired multiple shots about 2:27 a.m. Sunday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

The wounded driver drove directly to Blake Medical Center for treatment. None of the three passengers in the rear of the vehicle were hurt.
