Alternative rock station 97X really needs to come up with another name for its signature bash. "Next Big Thing"? Really? When the festival is co-headlined by Bush, a post-grunge group that peaked with the single "Glycerine" way back in 1995?
Please. Sounds more like a nostalgia celebration. Or some stupid hipster joke.
Anyway, the lineup also includes punk veterans Rise Against, indie rock stars of yesteryear Silversun Pickups, Fun., Of Monsters and Men, Grouplove, Paper Tongues and more.
Details: 10 a.m. Dec. 1, Vinoy Park, 501 Fifth Ave. NE, St. Petersburg. Tickets: $45-$60. Information: 727-579-2000 or 97xonline.com
