MANATEE -- IberiaBank paid off $2,500 in layaway payments at several stores in Sarasota and Manatee counties as one of its random acts of kindness.
Branch managers elected to spend their random acts of kindness funds on making layaway payments for many lucky families.
"This is a great way to spread holiday cheer in a fun and anonymous way," said Retail Market Manager Andy Kirkman. "We hope that this spirit of giving inspires others to do the same."
Animal sanctuary offers pet photos with Santa
PARRISH -- Majical Miniatures Animal Education Center & Sanctuary, 16502 Golf Course Road, Parrish, will be offering a photographer to take photos of pets with Santa on Dec. 8.
The event will take place from 1-4 p.m. at Pet's Plus, 8943 US 301 N., Parrish.
Sitting fee is $20, which is donated to Majical Miniatures. No appointment is necessary. For more details email email@example.com.
There also will be a low-cost mobile pet vaccination clinic at the location from 12:30-2 p.m.
Majical Miniatures is a local nonprofit animal sanctuary that rescues and rehabs wild, exotic and farm animals.
Wellness clinic opens on Manatee Avenue
BRADENTON -- Susan Stone has opened Stone Wellness Clinic at 2620 Manatee Ave. W., Suite C.
Dr. Stone is a nationally board certified and Florida licensed acupuncture physician and doctor of oriental medicine. She also is a 13-year registered yoga instructor.

Bradenton company honored
BRADENTON -- Averitt Express of Bradenton was chosen as a "Green 75 Supply Chain Partner" by Inbound Logistics magazine. It's the third straight year Averitt has been selected for the honor.
The list is based on a company's involvement in three areas: participation in public-private partnerships; corporate sustainability initiatives and collaborative customer-driven projects. The magazine's editors solicited more than 200 transportation and logistics companies to complete a questionnaire specifying their investments in sustainability -- ranging from fuel-efficient equipment to corporate-sponsored recycling programs and everything in between.
