Scarlett Burghart, left, is painted to resemble a giraffe by Clarissa Young during the recent all-day ArtSlam along the Bradenton Riverwalk. The pair of Southeast High School students, led by visual arts teacher Barbara Kenney, joined 23 other students from the school as they participated in two team projects during the Nov. 10 ArtSlam. Clarissa spent all day painting Scarlett from head to toe, and when the work was finished the would-be giraffe joined other classmates painted as a jaguar and a zebra for an eye-catching stroll, to the delight of children and adults enjoying the sights along the Riverwalk.
