Two men sought in South Manatee home invasion

November 21, 2012

Two men are being sought after an attempted home invasion early Wednesday in southern Manatee County.

Just after 1:30 a.m., two 16- to 18-year-olds kicked open a front door of an apartment in the 4400 block of Sandner Drive, Manatee detectives reported. A woman was sleeping on the couch in the living room at the time.

The suspects demanded to know where the money was and who was in the house with the woman, accordig to a Manatee sheriff's report. When the victim told the teens that two friends were sleeping upstairs, the men fled the apartment. The woman did not know which way they went, or how they escaped.

The suspects did not take anything in the home invasion, nor were any weapons seen, according to the report. K9 detectives tried to track the suspects without success.
