MANATEE -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office found no foul play in a 51-year-old man's death Saturday evening in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven, sheriff's spokesman Dave Bristow said Sunday.
EMS and deputies responded about 4:30 p.m. Saturday to the 7-Eleven at the corner of 26th Street West and 53rd Avenue West, where the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was a passenger in a vehicle with two other occupants that pulled into the store's parking lot. The decedent reportedly "turned blue," was removed from the vehicle and CPR was attempted, said Sgt. Rod Taylor of the sheriff's office.
Vehicles crawled through the intersection as occupants looked at the scene barricaded with crime tape. The decedent, visible from the road, laid covered by a sheet behind three vehicles parked at the store front. The store closed with its entrances blocked by patrol vehicles.
Deputies performed initial interviews before the Crime Scene Unit arrived about 6 p.m. to process the area.
