Boutique craft fair: Vendors are being sought for the Congregational Church of Christ's Christmas boutique craft fair, set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the church, 3700 26th St. W., Bradenton. Vendor tables are 10 feet in length, are $15 each, with two chairs. Information: 941-400-5296.

Yard sale: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Oneco First Baptist Church, 1700 51st Ave. E., Bradenton. Hot dogs and hamburgers will for sale as well. Information: 941-755-1690.

Evening of opera in the afternoon: Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, 4408 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach, presents choir director Carole Cornman and choir section leader Deborah Polkinghorn performing arias from Carmen, La Bohème, Hansel and Gretel, and more at 3 p.m. today. Proceeds from the concerts are used to provide soloists for special church services throughout the year. A reception with light refreshments follows the concert. Tickets at the door are $12. Thanksgiving meals: The Praise and Deliverance Ministries International, 2309 14th St. W., Bradenton. will be serving Thanksgiving meals and giving away clothing to homeless and needy families 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today. This is one of several outreach events held by the church each year. Information: 941-747-4733.

Hero Tot Shabbat: Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road in Sarasota, presents a morning of Shabbat and superheroes 10:30 a.m. today. Designed especially for Jewish and interfaith families with children through age 6, "Hero Tot Shabbat" will feature playground time, a deluxe bagel breakfast, and age-appropriate Shabbat blessings, songs, and movement. The morning will also include a superhero-themed challah-cover craft project and a story from Rabbi Brenner J. Glickman about a real Jewish superhero. Information: 941-379-1997.

Chili cookoff and game night: Living Lord Lutheran Church, 11107 Palmbrush Trail, Lakewood Ranch, hosts its annual chili cookoff and game night at 6 p.m. today. All types of chili are welcome. Bring a favorite game to play after dinner. Information: call Billie Havey 941-812-0554.

Fine arts and craft sale: Hope Lutheran Church, 4635 26th St. W., Bradenton, holds its fine arts and craft sale 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday. Special gifts: Peace Presbyterian Church, 10902 Technology Drive, Lakewood Ranch, will offer a large selection of gifts from Alternative Gifts International at 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday and again Nov. 25, in the lobby of the church. AGI has vetted and selected 30 gift opportunities which will support projects to end hunger, homelessness, and child mortality and to support maternal health, medical services, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. Youth Evensong: The Church of the Redeemer, 222 S. Palm Ave., Sarasota, presents a special "Youth Evensong" at 5:15 p.m. Sunday. This Evensong honors and celebrates Sarasota's young people and will feature a performance with Redeemer's Canterbury Girls' Choir, the Sarasota Young Voices choir, and members of the Sarasota Youth Philharmonic. Dinner and a Movie: Join Rabbi Huntting at 5 p.m. Sunday at Temple Sinai, 4631 S. Lockwood Ridge Road, Sarasota. for the second of four films from the Dr. Sam and Ina Gross Memorial Collection. The overall theme is the Jewish Diaspora; surviving and thriving as one people in many homelands. The film is "Taking Root" and will be paired with German cuisine. Dinner and film is $35 for guests. Adult Sunday school: The class returns 10-11:30 a.m. Sunday at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Road Sarasota. This learning and discussion session will focus on the winter holidays and the joys and challenges they present for Jewish and interfaith families. Rabbis Brenner and Elaine Glickman will share thoughts on being in an interfaith family during the holiday season, and even get a copy of Rabbi Brenner Glickman's famous latke recipe. Theater luncheon benefit: The 12th annual Sarasota Ministerial Association's luncheon theater is set 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St Martha's Catholic Church, 200 Orange Ave. N., Sarasota. Staring Sarasota Mayor Suzanne Atwell, Sarasota County Commissioner Carolyn Mason and City Commissioner Paul Caragiulo, this community theater luncheon will bring together local government representatives, faith and other community leaders to dine with the county's homeless. Special Choral Mass: Church of the Redeemer, 222 S. Palm Ave., Sarasota, celebrates Thanksgiving Day with a special Choral Mass at 10 a.m., Nov. 22. Menorah lighting: Chabad of Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch will ignite a public 9-foot-tall menorah 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch, followed by a communitywide celebration on the second night of Chanukah. Activities include menorah sand sculpting for the entire family, live music, frying and decorating traditional doughnuts, latkes, cotton candy, raffles, pictures with Judah the Maccabbee, a Dreidel House, Olive Oil Factory, Falafel by Yoav, Kosher food from "Delicious Creations," face painting and more. Chanukah Party: The National Council of Jewish Women will hold a Chanukah Party with Boutique and Program at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 12 at the Girl Scouts Conference Center, 4780 Cattlemen Rd., Sarasota. Enjoy a buffet lunch and shop at the boutique complete with jewelry, hand bags and accessories. A program presented by 'The Quills' writing group will recount their Chanukah celebrations.
