Published: November 16, 2012

The Miami Marlins announced the finalization of manager Mike Redmond's 2013 coaching staff on Friday.

Former Yankees and Mariners slugger Tino Martinez has been tabbed as the new hitting coach. The 44-year-old Tampa native hit 339 homers and drove in 1,271 runs over his 16-year career, winning four World Series titles with New York. He spent the previous four seasons as special assistant to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman.

Rob Leary, who served as the Indians' minor league field coordinator in 2012, became the Marlins' bench coach.

Chuck Hernandez got the nod as pitching coach, coming up to the big leagues after two seasons as an assistant coach with the University of South Florida.

Perry Hill, who coached for the club from 2003-06 and again in 2011, returns as first base coach.

In addition, third base coach Joe Espada and bullpen coach Reid Cornelius were retained in their original positions.
