Jarvis kicks off annual toy collection

MANATEE -- Kenneth Jarvis PLLC is an official drop-off site for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots program.

Clients and associates are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys at its Lakewood Ranch location, second floor of the Bank of America building off Town Center Parkway. Donations can be dropped off 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Dec. 14.

As a thank you, the company is offering a $25 discount on tax preparation services to everyone who donates a toy. Information: 941-907-9188.

Holiday card project sponsored by IberiaBank

MANATEE -- IberiaBank continues the "i Gives Back" program with a partnership with the American Red Cross to bring cheer and words of appreciation to our troops.

The bank is providing holiday cards for the public to stop in and sign that will be sent to troops throughout the world. Cards will be available through November at 5310 State Road 64 E., 6351 Manatee Ave. W., and 5844 14th St. W.

Florida Blood Services, Sweetbay join in drive

MANATEE -- Florida Blood Services and selected Sweetbay supermarkets, including 5802 14th St. W. and 5805 Manatee Ave. W., have joined forces this holiday season for the Thanks4Giving Blood Drive 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 20.

Blood can also be donated at Florida Blood Services at 216 Manatee Ave. E., Bradenton, and 11161 State Road 70 E., Suite 108, Lakewood Ranch.

All blood donors will receive a wellness check-up and a $10 voucher to Sweetbay Supermarkets, plus be entered into a drawing for $250 toward Bright House Networks' services. Information: www.fbsblood.org or 800-682-5663.

Ranch Town Halljoins food drive

LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Lakewood Ranch Town Hall, 8175 Lakewood Ranch Blvd., is participating in the Manatee County Food Bank Drive. There will be a collection barrel in the Town Hall front lobby until Dec. 19.

Burgers & Brew supports food bank, Toys for Tots

MANATEE -- AJ's Burgers & Brew, 3550 53rd Ave. W., in support of the Manatee Food Bank and Toys for Tots, are asking customers to bring in a nonperishable food item and receive $1 off a burger, sandwich or entrée.

For those who bring in an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots, they'll receive a free beer with the purchase of a burger, sandwich or entrée.

Tink's Lounge to aidMarine Corps toy drive

MANATEE -- For the third consecutive year, Tink's Lounge, 3102 53rd Ave. E., will host Tink's for Tots benefitting the Manatee County Chapter of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 2.

Those planning to attend the annual event are asked to donate a new toy to the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation. In return, the first 200 donors will be treated to a free heaping plate of Woody's Bar-B-Q, complete with all the traditional side dishes.
