MANATEE -- A 25-year-old man was being treated for a gunshot wound he suffered late Thursday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

"He also smelled strongly of marijuana," a news release states.

The victim was taken to Blake Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.

No arrests have been reported.
