MANATEE -- Detectives were trying to learn more about why an intruder stabbed a man in Bradenton late Thursday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
About 9:25 p.m., a resident answered the door of a residence in the 5700 block of 13th Street East. The suspect entered and stabbed the resident. He then fled the scene, according to a news release.
The victim, who is 35, was taken to Blake Medical Center, "and will be interviewed when his condition allows," the release states.
"The victim and suspect were talking before the incident but this time, the motive for the stabbing is unknown," the sheriff's office said.
