Former Albertsons shopping center in Bradenton changes hands

BRADENTON -- The site of a former Albertson's grocery store on Manatee Avenue in west Bradenton has changed hands.

ABNK Properties LLC sold the retail center to a subsidiary of LNR Properties for $6.612 million, according to the Manatee Clerk of the Circuit Court.

The 65,510-square-foot plaza at 7415 Manatee Ave. W. was anchored by an Albertson's until the grocer in early June shut down the store along with a dozen of its other locations in Florida.

ABNK bought the site in July 2006 for $4.92 million, court records show.

It's unclear exactly what LNR Properties plans are for the site, which sits at the corner of Manatee Avenue and 75th Street West.

A representative from LNR did not return phone calls seeking comment Monday.

LNR began as an operating unit of national homebuilder Lennar Corp. Now a separate company, the firm specializes in managing commercial real estate -- repositioning more than 40 million square feet of space, according to its website.

Outparcel to the former Albertson's center, which includes the Mannatees Sports Bar, also changed ownership this year after the previous landlord, Manatee West Shopping Center LLC, lost a $4.07 million foreclosure judgment in January.
