MANATEE A 28-year-old woman walking to pick up her child at a day care at 5:50 p.m. Monday was confronted by three suspects who hit her in the head with a pistol and stole her purse.
The incident occurred in the 300 block of 60th Avenue Drive East.
As one suspect demanded her purse, another pulled out a silver pistol, according to a Manatee County Sheriffs Office report.
The victim turned to run but was immediately struck on the back of the head, knocking her to the ground, according to a report.
While on the ground she was struck twice more in the head and her purse was ripped from her arms, breaking the strap. The suspects then ran west with the victims purse. One suspect is described as a male with dreadlocks, wearing blue jeans and a black shirt with white writing.
The second subject was a male wearing blue jeans armed with a silver pistol. The third was only described as a male wearing blue jeans.
The victims purse was green and contained miscellaneous ID and ATM cards as well as money.
The victim suffered a small bump and was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital.
