MANATEE -- Hurricane Sandy is hundreds of miles away, but the storm threatening the East Coast of the United States will make it somewhat breezy in Bradenton on Friday.

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly cloudy skies, with a high near 84 and northerly winds of 14 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. There is a 20 percent chance of rain.

Friday night, skies will remain mostly cloudy, with a low around 73 and north-northwesterly winds of around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

The sun should return Saturday and Sunday -- and with it cooler temperatures. By Monday, high temperatures should remain in the 70s and lows in the 50s.
