Six hours after being fired on Tuesday, Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen took to Twitter to thank fans and to say he was leaving “with my head held up high, real high.”
At around 10 p.m, Guillen tweeted out a long message in a handful of tweets. He sent out the tweets in both Spanish and English.
Guillen wrote:

“Thanks to my family and great friends for [their] support my kids, [my] wife and all my boys.”
Tweet 2:
“To the fans that support me and for those who are happy as well my love and respect to you.”
Tweet 3:
“In life there are worst things and I have [experienced] them. I have lived through bad moments and I will get through this with support.”
Tweet 4:
“ Better things will come or worse things, but they will come. Thanks a lot for the support in this difficult time, but not the worst.”
Tweet 5:
“I’m fine with the people that I love, with my head held up high, real high.”
