Man robbed while waiting in Manatee traffic on scooter

MANATEE -- A 42-year-old man was robbed at knife point while waiting in traffic on his scooter 5:45 a.m. Sunday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

The victim told deputies he was was riding his scooter north-bound on 14th Street West, when he stopped for traffic turning onto 35th Avenue.

A heavy set blonde woman with lip piercing, blue pants, black sweater, and sandals stepped from a car lot on the corner, in front of his scooter and began talking to him, according to a sheriff's report.

A male then approached and put a knife to the victims' side, demanding money. He took money from the victim and fled with with the woman east bound, the report said.

The victim followed and watched them go into a residence in the 1200 block of 35th Avenue West. He called 911. Responding deputies searched the house, locating Adrian Conde. The victim positively identified Conde, who was arrested for armed robbery. He was being held at the Manatee County Jail without bond.

The female suspect couldn't be located.
