Demolishing darkness with our faith

October 13, 2012

Greetings, Powerful Sons and Daughters of God!

I love being a Christian! I love striving to be like Christ in every way. I love people, and I love to bless them whenever I have the opportunity. Yet I have learned that being a Christian is much more than just being a nice person. I am called to be dangerous to darkness, contagious to the lost and victorious in every area of my life; I want to demolish the deeds of darkness.

Jesus said it like this; "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8)

I want to be famous, I want to be famous in heaven and in hell resulting in the spreading of Jesus' fame on the earth.

Did you know that as a believer you have great authority, that you are an ambassador for Christ and a representative of His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven?

Jesus said "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father." (John 14:12 NKJV)

In Matthew 16, 13:20, Jesus asks His disciples "Who do men say that I, the Son of Man am?" After they answer, Jesus asks the second question "Who do you say that I am?" Peter beats them all to the punch with the correct answer. "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

I am convinced for the church to live victoriously and to actively advance the cause of Christ, we must have fresh revelation of who Jesus is and who we are in Him. It is not enough to only know Him as Savior; we must also know Him as Lord and King. A King with power and authority. A King who has imparted that power and authority in us through the Holy Spirit. When we grasp that, we will realize that the Christian life is anything but boring.

Following Peter's revelation, Jesus makes a significant statement in Matthew; "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

This is not a picture of the church with its shoulder pressed up against the gates of hell in a defensive posture pleading to God to hold back the torrents of darkness. Rather, this a picture of a victorious church advancing along side of a triumphant King with love in their hearts, healing in their hands, bringing solutions to the kingdoms of this world and freeing people who are bound by demolishing the gates of darkness.

In closing, it is important to remember that in all we to serve Jesus Christ, must be wrought through love for God and for His people; "For the Strategy of the Kingdom is Love."

That's the Kingdom Perspective!
