11-year-old runaway sought by police

HERALD STAFF REPORTOctober 12, 2012

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in locating an 11-year-old runaway.

Jordan Deshaline Thompson was last seen Thursday afternoon by his grandmother after coming from school to his home in the 600 block of 61st Ave. Terrace East in Bradenton, according to a news release.

The grandmother asked him about homework. Thompson told her he was going to put his sneakers outside the front door and ran away. The mother was contacted, who then called the sheriff's office. Jordan has run away before, the release noted.

Thompson is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 108 pounds. He was last seen wearing bay shorts and a blue polo shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 941-747-3011.
