SARASOTA -- Southbound traffic on U.S. 301 was delayed Thursday for approximately two hours as the Sarasota Police Department investigated a crash.

The incident occurred at 10:47 a.m. at the intersection of 12th Street and U.S. 301 (North Washington Boulevard), according to police.

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and airlifted to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton.
