"Oktoberfest 2012": The German American Society of Pinellas County, 8098 66th St. N., Pinellas Park
The German American Society of Pinellas County will host "Oktoberfest 2012" 4 p.m.-midnight Oct. 12-13. The event is a faithful representation of the real Munich Oktoberfest featuring authentic German beers, food, folk dancers, bands, vendors, costumes, decorations and atmosphere based on history, tradition and activities such as the Parade of Flags and Keg Tapping ceremonies. "Spirit Voices of Old Manatee": Manatee Village Historical Park, 1404 Manatee Ave. E., Bradenton
The Manatee County Historical Commission and the Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller R.B. "Chips" Shore will host "Spirit Voices of Old Manatee," Oct. 12-14, and 19-20, a dramatic cemetery tour of the Old Manatee Burying Grounds featuring costumed thespians bringing to life those interred with haunting graveside dialogue. Due to the interactive nature of this event, all attendees will be required to sign a waiver at the gate, prior to admission, Audience space is limited. Advance tickets purchased by Oct. 10 are $10, all tickets purchased after that are $17. The event is not recommended for viewers ages 10 or younger. South Florida Museum celebrates the music and personalities of the American Blues movement in conjunction with the first annual Bradenton Blues Festival with the "The Blues Downtown" film series including: "The Blues Brothers," Oct. 12, "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
