A hair metal hero will be hanging out tonight in downtown Bradenton.

And performing, too.

Eric Brittingham, bassist and cofounder of Cinderella, plans to be rocking the stage at The Lost Kangaroo Pub starting around 10 p.m.

Tampa-based singer/guitarist Brandon Gibbs will accompany him.

Expect the duo to play Cinderella hits like "Gypsy Road," "Heartbreak Station" and "Nobody's Fool."

Attendees at the free concert should also expect new originals, plus surprises from the worlds of classic rock and alternative metal.

"We'll be doing some of Brandon's songs and some of my songs, and covers ranging from The Doobie Brothers to Seether," Brittingham said when he called from his home in Nashville.

In addition to performing, the Cinderella cofounder is up for socializing.

And maybe even signing that cassette tape single of "Don't Know What You Got (Til It's Gone.)"

"For Cinderella fans, it's an opportunity to hang out," Brittingham said. "We make it very casual. We play for an hour and take a break and mingle, have drinks with the audience and just make it a fun night."

So, what type of beverage does the rock star prefer?

"I swear, I'm not doing shots," Brittingham said with a laugh. "No shots, please."

He will take a beer, though.

"From living in Pennsylvania, I'm a big Yuengling fan," Brittingham said.

Bradenton musician Paul Fournier will get the party started at 9 p.m.
