ANNA MARIA -- AMI Outfitters, which will specialize in green merchandise in men's clothing and equipment, is opening on 505 Pine Ave.

The shop also will provide gear for kayaking, fishing and Nordic-walking.

Owner Steve Traves expects to open the shop Monday.

"Our primary merchandise is kayaks, fishing gear, and men's outdoor clothing, shoes and accessories," Traves says, "from industry leaders like Columbia, Patagonia and Ex Officio."

The shop also is focusing on sustainable clothing like bamboo/organic-cotton blends.

The store also carries some women's clothing and accessory lines and is dog-friendly. Traves plans to offer free clinics in kayak-angling and Nordic-walking.
