MANATEE -- Someone stole the safe from a Bradenton restaurant during a burglary early Monday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 5:50 a.m., deputies responded to an alarm at Cody's Roadhouse restaurant, 895 Cortez Road W. Deputies arrived within three minutes of the alarm sounding, but the burglar or burglars had already fled with the safe, according to a news release.

The investigation is continuing, according to the sheriff's office.
