EAST MANATEE -- Four people were taken to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Friday night after being struck by a piece of equipment at Music on Main, officials said.

A gust of wind caused the disc jockey's lights to fall into the crowd, said Julia DeCastro, property manager for Main Street.

DeCastro said firefighters were on scene and able to assist until emergency personnel, dispatched at 7:47 p.m., arrived on scene.

Injuries were not critical, officials said.

Precautions will be taken in the future to prevent similar incidents, DeCastro said.

Music on Main is a free Main Street at Lakewood Ranch concert series held the first Friday of every month.

The Lauren Mitchell Band, which plays blues, soul and rock music, was featured Saturday with all proceeds benefiting C.A.R.E.
