LAKEWOOD RANCH -- The second My Pink Diaries art show opened Friday at the Lakewood Ranch Plastic Surgery and Skin Care office, 6310 Health Park Way, Suite 110.

The event, which is open to the public, celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month and breast cancer survivors.

The event also empowers women with breast cancer in the Manatee area.

The artwork will remain in the office for the rest of October.

"Attitude is 99 percent of the battle and that's my attitude right there," said Nanci Ruhl of North Port, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in June and is one of the women portrayed in the art show.

This year's show displays 14 large portraits of women either semi-nude or fully clothed accompanied by a life-size pink ribbon.
