Michael's On East to offer iPad wine menu

SARASOTA -- Michael's on East will offer an Apple iPad wine menu in its restaurant next week along with Apple iPad terminals.

"Over the past several months, we have worked with multiple partners to research and invest in new technology" to focus on the ultimate guest experience, said Michael Klauber, co-proprietor of Michael's On East.

The restaurant's wine list will be offered in an interactive iPad program.

The restaurant also has a new www.bestfood.com website, which encompasses Michaels on East, Michael's Wine Cellar and Michael's Events & Catering. The website was designed and developed by True Green Studios.

The installation of iPad service terminals in the restaurant allows servers to directly interact with guests.

Medallion Home buys 553 acres in east Manatee

EAST MANATEE -- A Medallion Home company has purchased 553 acres in eastern Manatee County on State Road 64.

B Squared Ranch, LLC paid $900,000 for the property. The company said there are no imminent plans to develop the land.

"This is a great investment property for us as a long term hold," said Medallion Home owner and CEO Carlos Beruff.

Hearts Desire celebrates sixth anniversary

BRADENTON -- Hearts Desire in the Village of the Arts will celebrate its sixth anniversary from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday during the village art walk.

"Dance in the Garden," a photographic art book by Michele Marx Penn, will be the featured artist for October. Her other books will be available for purchase as well.

Bunker Hill Vineyard and Winery to hold ghost walk

DUETTE -- The second annual Ghost and Spirit Orb Walkabout will be held Oct. 20, 27 and 31 at Bunker Hill Vineyard, 8905 Bunker Hill Road, Duette.

From 7:30 until 9 p.m. a walk through the vineyard, woods and wetlands of Bunker Hill Vineyard and Winery will be conducted. Advance reservations are needed. Cost is $10 per person older than 10 years of age and free for children younger than 10.

ITW Military GSE to provide hangar help

PALMETTO -- ITW Military GSE has been selected to provide its dual output facility converter for the construction of a new aircraft hangar at Iwakuni Marine Corp Air Station in Iwakuni, Japan.

The hangars will support both legacy and next generation fighter aircraft using the dual converter and can also be used for current rotor wing and fixed wing aircraft.
