The Island Players are back for season 64 today with "Postmortem," the Ken Ludwig whodunit that also contains a love story, ample comedy and serves as an homage to Sherlock Holmes.
The play follows real-life actor William Gillete, famous for portraying Sherlock Holmes on stage and silent film, who has arranged a seance for the cast of his current play. He suspects someone is trying to murder him and believes it is one of his guests. Gillete takes on the role of Holmes to solve the mystery.
The players production is directed by Gareth Gibbs with Bobbie Berger and Ruth Steve as stage managers.
The cast is Mark Shoemaker, John Durkin, Anne Bean, Sylvia Marnie, Heiko Knipfelberg, Robin Rhodes and Diana Shoemaker.
