Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary, in partnership with many local animal welfare organizations, will host a free educational and fun World Animal Day Celebration 3-7 p.m. Oct. 4 commemorating St. Francis of Assisi The event includes educational presentations by experts on exotic and endangered animals, activities for children. Visitors also may tour the facility for an up close experience with the habitat's residents, including tigers, lions, cougars, leopards, bears, primates, birds, coatimundies, and many more animals, as well as a petting zoo.
