MANATEE -- A passing motorist Tuesday fired a gunshot -- and missed -- at a Bradenton resident who was outside their home checking the mail, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The shooting was reported about 4 p.m., in the 3900 block of 37th Street West.
The gunman was a passenger in a Nissan Frontier pickup truck, according to a news release. Deputies located the truck a short time later, but the suspected shooter was not in the truck, according to the sheriff's office.
The truck's driver was arrested on unrelated charges.
