Weather alert: Showers, storms likely in Bradenton all day Wednesday

October 3, 2012

MANATEE -- More scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely in Bradenton on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters were calling for mostly cloudy skies, a high near 87 and a 70 percent chance of rain. Southerly winds of 9 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph were expected.

The chance of rain Wednesday evening decreases to 40 percent. The expected low was around 74.

According to Bay News 9 Meteorologist Juli Marquez, showers and storms will continue to move north across the area.

A frontal boundary has stalled to the northwest of the Bay area, resulting in showers and clouds locally.

"It didn't rain all day long (Tuesday)," Marquez said. "But almost every part of the area had some rain."
