U.S. marshals shoot Manatee homicide suspect

October 2, 2012

U.S. Marshals shot and captured a Manatee County murder suspect Tuesday in Polk County.

Javiar Aguilar, 23, was identified as a suspect three days after Natividad Faudoa, 32, was fatally shot on May 26 in the parking lot of DaVinci’s nightclub, 105 Cortez Road. Aguilar was on the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office list of wanted fugitives.

Deputies responded to the shooting at 12:20 a.m., where Faudoa was wounded. He was taken to the Manatee Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses said the two men were fighting inside the club prior to shots being fired.

The Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force of the U.S. Marshals Service found Aguilar about 10:15 a.m. in the 7700 block of Habersham Drive near Lakeland.

Aguilar was wanted on charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Aguilar sustained non-life threatening injuries during the officer-involved shooting and was taken to a local hospital.

The incident is under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

This is the second arrest of a Manatee County fugitive wanted on murder charges by the U.S. Marshal’s Office this year. Earl Scott was previously arrested in New York for the April 30 slaying of Ruben Harris.

In that case, the two men were also involved in an altercation at DaVinci’s. Harris was shot at a nearby gas station parking lot.
