TITUSVILLE — The Lakewood Ranch girls, led by Kristin Zarrellas 25th-place finish, came in fifth out of 17 teams in the Race of Champions Division at the flrunners.com Invitational at Chain OLakes Park.
Zarrella finished in 19 minutes, 16 seconds. She was followed by teammates Natalie Novak (34th, 19:44), Katie Wray (44th, 19:58), Michelle Last (66th, 20:24) and Julia Ortiz (20:25). The Mustangs ran without regulars Ashley Platt and Emily Perez, who were injured.
Powerhouse Estero won the girls team championship.
The Lakewood Ranch boys team finished 13th out of 30 teams in the Invitational Division. Mitch Arnold paced the Mustangs by finishing 17th in 16:50.
