Out on bail, fresh out of jail, Fiona Apple makes her way to Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater

September 27, 2012

After spending the night in jail last week for a hashish possession arrest at a West Texas Border Patrol checkpoint, Fiona Apple unleashed an understandably angry but really weird rant about the incident during a Houston concert.

This prompted a silly response from the Lone Star State sheriff's office.

What's next?

Apple makes her way to Tampa Bay for a Saturday show at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.

The strange, highly talented singer-songwriter is touring in support of her fourth album, the way-too-wordy titled, but brilliant "The Idler Wheel...." The record, which came out in June, is her first full-length release since the 2005 powerhouse "Extraordinary Machine."

Blake Mills opens the show.

Details: 8 p.m. Sept. 29, Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 N. McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater. Tickets: $51.50-$75.50. Information: 727-791-7400 or www.rutheckerdhall.com
