Blondie, Devo to play Pinellas Park near St. Petersburg

September 20, 2012

New Wave faves Blondie and Devo have joined forces for a "Whip it to Shreds" nostalgia tour that comes to the England Brothers Park in Pinellas on Sunday.

Judging by reviews of shows earlier this month, attendees can expect Debbie Harry to belt out Blondie's golden oldies ("Heart of Glass," "Call Me, "Maria") while Devo will deliver its sole smash "Whip It" and the band's geeks-only cover of the Stones' "Satisfaction," both from the band's landmark 1978 album "Q:Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!"

Details: 3 p.m. Sept. 23, England Brothers Park, 5010 81st Ave. N., Pinellas Park. Tickets: $14-$99. Details: 727-867-0506 or www.fatharry.net.
