MANATEE -- A man and a woman were arrested on charges that they robbed another man during what he thought was just going to be a drug deal, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The victim had arranged with one of the suspects, Samantha E. Norris, to meet at the Days Inn Motel, 3506 First St., to buy some pills -- even though Norris never had any pills nor did she plan to acquire pills for the victim, according to a news release.

When the victim arrived, Norris and the male suspect, Christopher D. Webb, took his money and fled across the street to a Subway restaurant. When they realized that the victim had followed them, they tried to hide in a restroom, but they were subsequently arrested by deputies, according to the sheriff's office.

Norris and Webb were each charged with robbery, and were being held without bond at the Manatee County jail.
