Tickets go on sale for the Suncoast Food and Wine Fest at Lakewood Ranch

LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Tickets for the 11th Annual Suncoast Food & Wine Fest, sponsored by the Lakewood Ranch Rotary Club, have gone on sale.

The festival will be held on the grounds of the Sarasota Polo grounds 1-4 p.m. Nov. 10.

More than 300 American and international wines will be available for sampling. In addition, more than 40 area restaurants will be serving specialty food items.

Attendees will receive a complimentary signature wine glass and snack plate.

Providing live musical entertainment will be the Garbage Men and the Venturas. Also planned: a silent auction, beer tastings and cooking demonstrations.

New this year are a cigar bar, fashion show, and a garden like respite area.

Proceeds from the festival fund grants to charities in the Manatee-Sarasota area. To date, the Lakewood Ranch Rotary Club has raised more than $1 million from the festival, and funded more than $975,000 grants to local charities.

Charities are selected through a grant application process, open to all 501(C-3) organizations.
