Pop-up books bring a story to life

Published: September 16, 2012

There's nothing like 3-D to bring a story to life. Pop-up book creator Matthew Reinhart, one of the masters of the genre, has three new titles:

n "A Princess Like Me: A Royal Pop-Up," by Matthew Reinhart; Robin Corey Books (12 pages, $6.99)

A day in the life of a young princess, from the moment she wakes up and dons her dress and tiara to the time she plays with her pet unicorn and readies for a tea party with friends, told through pop-ups, pull-tabs and lift-the-flaps. (August)

n "Rumble! Roar! Dinosaurs!: A Prehistoric Pop-Up," by Matthew Reinhart; Robin Corey Books (12 pages, $6.99)

A Stegosaurus, Apatosaurus, Deinonychus, Pteranodon, Triceratops, T-Rex and Ankylosaur come to life with pop-ups, pull-tabs and lift-the-flaps. (August)

n "Star Wars: A Galactic Pop-Up Adventure," by Matthew Reinhart (Orchard Books, $36.99)

"Star Wars" rises off the page, with pop-ups, working light sabers and pull tabs that explore the characters, stories, vehicles and droids from the George Lucas film franchise. (October)
