MANATEE - The health of community banks in Manatee and Sarasota counties changed little in the last three months, according to new data released Thursday.

The latest Bauer Financial ratings for the period ending June 30 showed the top ranking bank was Gateway Bank of Southwest Florida in Sarasota with five stars. The lowest ranking went to Bank of Commerce in Sarasota with zero stars.

Bauer's ratings are assigned on a scale of zero to five stars and are based on the overall financial pictures of the bank.

Other bank ratings included 1st Manatee Bank of Parrish with 3 1/2 stars, C1 Bank of Lakewood Ranch with 3 stars, First America Bank of Bradenton with 3 stars, Insignia Bank of Sarasota with 3 1/2 stars, and Sabal Palm Bank of Sarasota with 3 1/2 stars.
