Juco volleyball | SCF finishes Labor Day tourney 4-0

TAMPA -- The State College of Florida volleyball team defeated host Hillsborough Community College (18-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-22) and Palm Beach State College (25-19, 25-15, 21-25, 25-16) to finish 4-0 at a Labor Day tournament.

Tessa Alyman led the Manatees (7-2) in the first match with 14 kills and 17 service points. Kierston Smith added 36 assists and 14 points, and Rachel Arnason had nine kills. In the second match, SCF got 13 kills from Courtney Crawford and 27 assists and 24 points from Smith. Abi Van Ostenbridge, a Bradenton Christian School product, had 25 points and 10 digs, while Natalie Frawley contributed 22 points and 10 digs.

The Manatees will play Ave Maria in their home opener at 7 p.m. Wednesday. All high school volleyball players and coaches wearing their uniforms will be admitted free.
