It has been 92 years since the 19th Amendmentto the Constitution of the United States, the Women's Suffrage Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. One would|have thought it was onlyyesterday by the celebratory luncheon last Saturday at Lakewood Ranch's Polo Grill.

Twenty exhibits were set up from businesses all around Manatee and Sarasota counties supporting equality of women across America.

Aside from celebrating the 19th Amendment, signed August 26, 1920, the theme this year was "Building Leadership on Women's Sports." Guest speaker Blair Bloomston engaged the crowd with personal stories and interactive games to engage the audience.

Something powerful happens when over 400 men and women gather together to remember a great day in history. That's exactly what happened.
