A tornado warning was in effect for parts of Manatee, Polk and Hillsborough counties early Monday afternoon but it expired at 2 p.m.
There have been no reports of tornado touchdowns, according to Bay News 9 Chief Meteorologist Mike Clay
A tornado warning was issued for northeastern Manatee County at about 1:30 p.m.
A tornado was spotted near Myakka Head, or 17 miles southwest of Wauchula, moving at 35 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Ruskin.
