Back to School Splash Bash set at Lakewood Ranch

Back to School Splash set

LAKEWOOD RANCH -- The Back to School Splash Bash is set for 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. Aug. 25 at the pooland pavilion area of theLakewood Ranch YMCA, 5100 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.

The event is free and open to the public.

Cool relief from theFlorida heat will be offered on water slides, a dunktank, a slip and slide andT-ball homerun derby.

Sponsors will be on hand to offer free sno cones, popcorn, lemonade and watermelon.

Children may decorate a backpack that they can bring home.

A $5 barbecue lunch will be available. Children and parents of all ages are invited. Children should be accompanied by a parent.

To protect swimmers, the YMCA will provide body bubbles to keep them afloat and lifeguards will be on duty.

Some additional recommended items to bring are swimsuits, towels, water shoes, sunscreen and lawn chairs.
