Tampa Bay Buccaneers' second preseason game to be blacked out locally; game will air at 11:35 p.m. Friday night

August 15, 2012

— Friday's NFL preseason game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans will not be shown on local television because Bucs fans did not purchase enough tickets to lift the television blackout.

The game will be aired on tape delay at 11:35 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday on Tampa's Channel 10.

The NFL allowed teams to lower the bar for blackouts this season. Only 85 percent of the tickets must be sold 72 hours before the game to get the blackout lifted.

Still, the Bucs, who have had 13 of their past 15 regular-season home games blacked out locally, failed to reach that plateau.

Manatee County falls well within what is considered Tampa Bay's home market, which encompasses a 75-mile radius from the team's stadium.
