Authorities looking for missing Manatee man

MANATEE -- The Manatee County Sheriff's Office was looking for a missing 28-year-old man officials said may be in danger, according to a news release.

Christopher Babauta was last seen at 10 p.m. Aug. 8 leavin his parents' residence in Bradenton in a 1996 silver Ford Thunderbird, with Florida tag B368LC.

At 1:05 a.m. Aug. 9, Babauta texted his roommate, saying he would be home first thing in the morning. "That is the last known communication anyone has had with him," the sheriff's office said in the news release.

Anyone with information about Babauta's whereabouts should call the sheriff's office at (941) 747-3011.
