LAKELAND -- The Bradenton Marauders dropped their series opener at Joker Marchant Stadium 1-0 to the Flying Tigers in 10 innings on Monday night. Lakeland strung together three singles in the 10th, the final one by Marcus Lemon to plate James Robbins from third with the games lone run.

Jameson Taillon started the game and pitch seven scoreless innings for Bradenton. The righty pitched out of jams in the fifth and sixth innings while holding Lakeland to just two hits. He walked three and struck out four. Kenn Kasparek pitched from the eighth on and took his second defeat in the process.

Lakeland's pitching staff stifled the Marauders throughout. Gift Ngoepe reached third with a two-out triple in the sixth. No other Bradenton runner made it that far. Matt Crouse pitched the final two innings to earn the win. Luis Sanz pitched eight scoreless after rehabbing righty Al Alburquerque pitched the first.

The Marauders (19-18) were blanked for the 11th time this season. It was their sixth extra-inning loss.

The series continues Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
