Summer Circus Spectacular 2012: John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota

In collaboration with Circus Sarasota, the Summer Circus Spectacular will be 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturdays, through July 28. "Live from downtown, it's Friday Night": Towles Court, Sarasota

"Live from downtown, it's Friday Night" will be 6-9 p.m. July 20 and every third Friday of the month featuring live performances by Sarasota's premier entertainers and performing arts organizations and enjoy shopping at a unique mix of boutiques, galleries, and salons. Snooty's 64th Birthday Bash and Wildlife Awareness Festival: South Florida Museum, 201 10th St. W., Bradenton

Snooty, the world's oldest manatee on record, will turn 64 and the South Florida Museum will celebrate his birthday with an outdoor birthday party in the Spanish Plaza 10 a.m.-2 p.m. July 21 featuring children's games and art activities, free cookies and juice for children. Tickets for games will be available for purchase. Live animals and special presentations from local environmental and wildlife organizations will be featured as well. Admission to the festival is free and tickets to the museum are half price at $8 adults, $7 seniors ages 65 and older, $6 children ages 4-12, children ages 3 and younger are admitted free with a paying adult. "Music from the Big House" Film Screening and Concert: Lakewood Ranch Cinemas, 10715 Rodeo Drive, Lakewood Ranch

Join award winning and recording artist Rita Chiarelli 6 p.m. July 21 at the Lakewood Ranch Cinema's Wine and Beer Garden on the Lake followed by a private screening of "Music From The Big House," a musical journey inside the confines of Louisiana State Penitentiary, a.k.a. Angola Prison. The film screening is followed by a Q&A session with the artist and a complimentary reception with hors d'oeuvres and beverages. Tickets: $25 advance, $30 at the door. Original Florida Highwaymen Artist Meet and Greet Art Show and Sale: Palmetto Historical Park and Manatee County Agricultural Museum, 515 10th Ave. W., Palmetto

Meet some of the original Florida Highwaymen at an art show and sale 10 a.m.-3 p.m. July 21, as they will be painting their interpretation of vintage Palmetto postcards. Their works will be available for purchase the day of the show. The artwork will be on display through Aug. 31. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Cool Art Show: Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N., St. Petersburg
